How fast time goes

So it was noted that I don't have any family pictures out on the blog, so here is a recent one from Christmas that I thought we could share. I guess I should get a more recent picture, but for now this will have to do.

Conversations of a 2 1/2 year old

When we got home today Abby wanted Dad to come get her out of the car. When I came back and told her that Dad couldn't becuase he was sick and had thrown up and was laying in her room this was the conersation that ensued:
Abby: Why are you in my bed?
Dad: Because it is dark in here.
Abby: No it isn't.
Dad: Yes it is
Abby: No it isn't
Dad: Well it is darker and cooler than Mom and Dad's room.
Abby: Oh, okay, get out of my bed so you don't throw up in it.
Dad: I won't, I promise, I will get up if I have to throw up.
Abby: Okay, do you want me to read you a story? Okay.
Abby proceeds to get the 2 of the "No David" books and reads those to day as she adds her own commentary into it.
Abby: "Do I have to...Noooooo"
Abby: David I said NO"
Etc.

Camping

Chris and the boy scouts went up for a camp out this weekend. I would love to show you some pictures, but someone forgot the camera. They had fun, didn't sleep much and of course had yummy dutch oven cooking, thanks to Jeff. They were supposed to hike devils head, but because of the late start, they decided to pass on that. They will try to go up again sometime next month for the last and final trip of the year. Maybe then I will have some pictures???

Sleep over

Abby got to go visit her cousin and spend the night and she even got to go to a princess party. She was so cute dressed up in her snow white dress. They had a lot of fun and she did great with her very first sleep over at her cousins. She was talking about it all day.

On Saturday we had a bit of a scare, because she ate something that caused her lips to puff up a lot, and it took a while for them to go back down after giving her some medicine. Not sure what happened there, but sounds like we will need to go in for some more alergy testing. I wish I had taken a picture, some people pay big money for lips like that and she had them with almost no effort!

Potty Training

Well it has begun...we are really on the potty training wagon. Abby had been doing big girl underware for a while now (aka pull-ups) but decided this week that she is ready for the real thing. So we went to the store on the way home to buy some cool big girl underware. She picked out Dora and Tinkerbell and was so excited when she got home that she wouldn't even let me wash them before she put them on. I managed to sneak them out after she fell asleep and at least wash the rest of them.
Yesterday she forgot that they weren't pull ups and had an accident, at least it was on the lanolium so it was easy to clean up. She was really upset that she got her clothes all wet, so hopefully that will help her to remember for next time.
Tonight we had another kind of accident, not near as fun, but none the less par for the course. Needless to say she is doing really well with it all and I just can't wait to spend all those saved dollars...on the other childs diapers. Well at least we will be down to only one.

What a helper

What a fun weekend it has been for us so not much time to blog. I have to say that children bring a whole new light to the everyday things. Those of you who have tried to feed a baby that is starting to learn how to eat know that it can be a challange. However when your 2 1/2 year old decides to help it becomes almost comical, because they can not even do a great job of feeding themselves let alone their younger sibling. Needless to say we did have to do some clean-up after the attempt I appreciate the effort.

I am also proud to say that this year our garden has even produced some food, nothing like my parents of course, but they also has a lot more room to. Abby has been helping me water over the past couple of months, so now her job it to pick the tomatos, but only the red ones, she is preatty good and loves to eat a few in the process.

Abby loves to play dress up and on Saturday was able to put on all of her clothes at one time, it was too cute not to capture, unfortunatly it was right after snack so she is a bit messy too.

Off to college

No not our children yet, but Theresa my youngest sister is heading to Arizona State on August 14th, so we decided to spend one last night with her before she headed off to the hot state!
Go Sun Devils!!

Abby loves for Dad to come get her when we get home. This night she refused to let me get her out and said she would wait for Dad. She held out for about 30 mintues before she was ready to come inside and wait (or hide as it turned out) for Dad.

Glasses?

Tonight Abby decided that she "needs" glasses, so she found an old pair of mine which have now become "hers". She wore these for much of the evening and insisted that she could see better when we asked her why she wanted to keep waring them.

Needless to say we were able to get them off of her before bed.
