Memorial Day

We decided that for Memorial day this year that we would take a hike with the girls. We went to Castle Wood cannon. Tori and Abby were very excited to go. Oh course we started our hike at the popular rest rooms.
Tori looks really happy here, this is where she spent most of her time (in the back pack). She loves this back pack and really likes when I carry her around this even at home. We knew we were in trouble when about 10 minutes in she said "done".

Abby also did great, she hiked almost all the way. She loves to be outside and although she started wanting to be carried, that didn't last long.

It was a little on the chilly side, so we tried to keep Tori's hat on so she wouldn't get too cold. This was part of the 10 minutes that she talked, so we had to capture it. That is Abby's hiking stick she found while we were on vacation, Tori had to have it to help her hike.

Tori and I had a break at the end of the hike. The total was 2 miles and took just over 2 hours. When you add up all the time we spent playing, petting dogs and walking backwards that is why it took so long.

After we got home, we had lunch and put the kids down for a nap. After that we went off to Cold Stone for a yummy treat. This was Abby and Tori before the sugar rush.

Here they are after the sugar got into their blood streams. Need I say more??

It was a great fun day for the family and we need to do it more.

Our new photographer

Abby has started her next career as a photographer. Being 3 is hard, you have to keep your hands off the lens, hold it still, look at what you want to take a picture of and of course, there is the so necessary subject to each picture.
Here are some of her pictures, too cute not to share...by the way I think she still needs some work here.

What you are getting a dog??

Why yes we have decided to make the move. We started the process last month and are working through a rescue group here in to adopt a Golden Retriever. We have a our home visit next week and then can start the process of adoption. The girls are pumped and can't wait, Abby had already come up with a name, Cassie.
We hope to add Cassie to the home within the next month.

Tori's 18 month check up

Today Tori had her 18 month check up and passed the test that they give them. I think I posted this at her 12 month, and it is interesting to see how much she changes from month to month. She loves to eat and gets really, really mad if you take her food away. Her favorite food is spaghetti with sauce on it. She like the sauce so much she will eat it plain, cold if she can get her hands on it. She can say several words including Mommy, Dada, Abby, juice, shoe, pup, owe, poop and I am sure there are others I am forgetting.

She has recently found a love for shoes and wants to wear them all the time. She will bring them to us and hold them out saying shoe, shoe until you put them on her. She had even taken them to bed with her. She will put on my shoes or Chris' or Abby's and clunk around in them if she find them.

She is a great sleeper, she goes to bed about 7:00PM each night 7:30 at the latest and sleeps until 6AM or sometimes a little later. We have moved Chris out of his office, poor guy and moved her crib and dresser in there. She was in the play pin until last week when we finally put her in a crib. We usually get her ready for bed, brush teeth, read a story, sing a song say a prayer and lay her down, turn off the light and close the door and don't hear from her again until morning.

She is very different from Abby and for that we love her, variety is the spice of life, right?? So here are her stats for today.
Weight 23.6 pounds (40% title)
Heights 32 inches (60% tile)
Head 46 1/2 (50% tile)

Just for fun we measured Abby to
Weight 28.6
Height 38 inches

Tori isn't that far behind her, and I am sure will pass her up soon

The jump rope

Today/Last night a had a funny conversation with the 3 year old about a jump rope, here is how it went:

Lastnight-

Mom "if you stay in bed all night you can pick a treat out of the basket like bubbles"Abby "I don't want bubbles, I want to come sleep with Mommy and Daddy"
Mom: "you could choose a jump rope instead"
Abby "okay, I like to jump rope"
Fast forward to 2am when Abby wakes Mom up
Abby " Mom, I slept in my bed all night so can we go get my jump rope now?"
Mom "it isn't morning yet, if you go back to bed you can get a jump rope when it is light outside"
Abby "no it is morning"
She chooses to get into our bed...fast forward to 6:30
Mom "time to get up Abby"
Abby (from Mommy's bed) "I slept in my bed all night, can we got get my jump rope now?"
Mom "who's bed are you in?"
Abby shoots me a look of surprise as if to say, well this is my bed.
Needless to say she is trying for the jump rope again tonight...
